Durango Senior Photographer | Karli Foreman’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Session Sneak Preview!
Karli is one of our Durango High School Class of 2012 Senior Models, and our last one of the year to photograph. Karli had to wait a bit for her model session, as she broke her back earlier this year – ouch! She is a runner and I can’t imagine how hard it was to not be able to run while she healed. Wow, what an amazing model program we have this year! Make sure to stop by Hair Fusion to check out all of our models and Hair Fusion’s amazing hair and make up artistry! Karli’s portrait will be hanging on their walls soon too. So, we started at Hair Fusion, of course. We all gushed over how gorgeous Karli’s hair is. Then we headed over to the First National Bank of Durango because I had spotted some yellow lilies earlier than I wanted to use in Karli’s pictures. After that, we headed up to Fort Lewis College, and more specifically, the trees next to the McPherson Chapel. We played in the trees and grass for a while, then tried to use the Lion’s Den, but there was an event going on, so we used the pretty sagebrush (you probably don’t hear it described that way very often, but I really do love the color) next to it instead. Then we headed back down to “triangle park” to finish with more trees and grass. Karli was so fun to photograph and her beautiful mom, Val, was great at getting really genuine smiles from Karli. I can’t wait for Karli’s senior session, we’ve got a long list of ideas for it already! I hope you love these few of my faves!
Durango Senior Photographer | Class of 2012 Model Paint Splatter Session! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Six of our amazing Class of 2012 DHS Models got together for a super fun paint splatter session. This is a slideshow of the whole session, from splattering each other with paint, to portraits, to jumping (or attempting to jump) together, and everything in between. It was blast! Thanks so much Kyle, Gina, Karli, Raquel, Hayden, and Savannah!
Durango Senior Photographer | Brand New Promo Video! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
We have been working with Randy Parker of Silver Summit Films for a while now and we absolutely love him! He is our partner in crime when we capture weddings; he does the cinematography and we do the photography. We have also been working on a promotional video for our seniors website and we just added it to the site – so check it out!
We are so in love with it, we have watched it close to 100 times already and we aren’t sick of it yet! Randy came along on one of our model sessions – you might remember the sneak preview from Jessica Gibson’s session – and he captured us doing what we do best. We wanted to share what it is like to work with us – how much fun we have and how your senior portraits are all about what you want them to be. Please share this video with everyone you know!
Durango Senior Photographer | Class of 2012 Models Display! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
We just hung a brand new display at our favorite salon, Hair Fusion! We are super excited about this display as it shows just how amazing our model program is this year! You should stop by and check it out, as these pics don’t do it justice; especially if you are one of our models or are friends or family of our models! There is a portrait of each of our stunning Class of 2012 Models on their walls. Hair Fusion did all the hair and makeup for our beautiful girls, so Thank You Hair Fusion!
Durango Senior Photographer | Gina Gates’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Portrait Session Sneak Preview! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Gina is one of our Class of 2012 Senior Models at Durango High School and is absolutely stunning! We had a great time photographing her session, starting out at Hair Fusion of course, then heading over to the studio. The girls at Hair Fusion always talk about how beautiful our models are and Gina is no exception! What amazing eyes, huh! Then we discovered a new favorite location of mine, which is always exciting. Great architectural lines, colors, etc. The flowers were blooming around town so we used as many of those as we could and had Gina pretty much rolling around in the dirt. She was up for everything though and has such a fun personality! We ended up at the Smiley building, photographing on the east side of the building, which was also new to me. Thanks Gina for being so great to work with and I hope you love these few of my faves!
Durango Senior Photographer | Jessica Gibson’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Portrait Session Sneak Preview! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Jessica Gibson is our 20th, yes you read that correctly, 20th Class of 2012 DHS model! When we met to discuss the model program, I was so excited to have Jessica as a representative for our studio! She is gorgeous and fun and totally gets the business side of the model program. Her family owns Appaloosa Trading Company and I can’t wait to get to know them better and spend some more time in their shop (they have a bedroom set my husband and I want so badly and I love all their purses!). We’ll photograph at least part of Jessica’s senior session out on their property; I can’t wait! Jessica also let us shoot a promo video during her session, which was very cool. Our super talented videographer, with whom we capture weddings, Randy Parker of Silver Summit Films, shot video of us while we shot stills of Jessica. We’ll put together the stills and video to create a short video for our website so you can see us in action. I can’t wait to see what I really look like while I shoot – I have a feeling it’s pretty funny. But I am so excited to have this video on our website and I will be sure to let you all know when it is up! We started at Hair Fusion, then used my now favorite set of stairs right outside their door, then headed over to my favorite old building, then to the train tracks. It was a really nice afternoon weather wise and the clouds came out to give us some great soft lighting. Jessica had wanted a sunny day and it’s a good thing we shot her session when we did, as it snowed and rained the rest of the week! Thanks Jessica for letting us shoot our video during your model session and I hope you love these few of my faves!
Ignacio Senior Photographer | Rylie Jefferson’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Portrait Session Sneak Preview! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Rylie is our one and only Ignacio High School model! She is a Class of 2012 senior at IHS and is absolutely stunning! We photographed her model session on a Friday morning, starting at Hair Fusion, of course, wandering around downtown, then up to the Fort where there was a gorgeous grove of those cherry blossom trees! Rylie had adorable outfits, including a super cute cowgirl hat and boots, which was perfect with those cherry blossoms! Rylie was a natural model – perfect poses – and great at fixing her hair in between shots since the wind was blowing, of course, even in the morning! I know I blog about how windy it has been in every post, but I really don’t remember it being this windy in past springs. And it has snowed twice in May this spring as well. I would love to be able to control the weather for my sessions. But since I can’t, it keeps me on my toes. Back to Rylie – we used the spiral staircase that seems to be a local favorite behind Well Fargo Advisors, then my favorite blue garage door – which is only usable in the morning, so I was super excited about this morning session! Rylie got to skip school for the morning so that she wouldn’t miss track practice in the afternoon. Rylie is in track, but has an injured ankle – from pole vaulting – so impressive! I hope you love these few of my faves!
Bayfield Senior Photographer | Sierra Pennell’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Portrait Session Sneak Preview! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Sierra is one of our models and our only female model from Bayfield High School! She is a Class of 2012 senior at BHS and she and Tyler Paxton are our BHS models for 2012. I was so excited when I received Sierra’s model application because I had photographed her family in the past. I absolutely fell in love with Sierra and her family when I photographed them a few years ago in the fall. Her younger brother and sister are adorable and Sierra and her mom, Kim, are just beautiful! Sierra came in after school one afternoon last week for her model session and was already a pro when it came to hair and makeup at Hair Fusion. She had modeled in a fashion show for FCCLA and Mary Beth had done her make up for the show, so they were like old friends. Sierra is a cheerleader as well and I am super excited about photographing her in her cheer-leading uniform in the fall because I came up with a great location idea! For Sierra’s model session, she wanted to use the train tracks and the river, so we did! I rolled/crawled around on the tracks while Sierra posed and looked beautiful – despite the wind that seems to come out of no where whenever I start a session. We then headed over to the river where Sierra had the perfect dress for it and the perfect pose idea of putting her toes in the water. LOVE!
Durango Senior Photographer | Melanie Hamilton’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Portrait Session Sneak Preview! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Melanie is a Class of 2012 senior model for us and a student at Durango High School. She squeezed in her model session on a Monday – between school and tennis practice. We met at Hair Fusion and did fun curls for her hair and pretty glam make up – so she looked amazing not only for her model session, but for her tennis practice! 🙂 The adventure of the day occurred when her car alarm started going off and wouldn’t stop. A nice man came out of the building we were parked in front of and after he finished yelling at us, he helped us fix the alarm problem – we were very thankful! Other than that, we had a blast, running around town finding new locations and finally shooting at Mama’s Boy (I’ve always wanted to and we just never make it – there are so many other wonderful locations). They have a gorgeous cherry blossom tree out front and I love the earth tones and architecture of the building. Thanks for such a fun session Melanie, I hope you love these few of my faves!
Durango Senior Photographer | Emily Barney’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Portrait Session Sneak Preview! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Emily is another of our Class of 2012 senior models and a student at Durango High School. I have been waiting to photograph Emily since she was a freshman after my husband told me about her as he had her in class. We’ve gotten the opportunity to get to know the Barney family a little and we just love them! Anne, Emily’s mom, is hilarious and she loves to call my husband by my last name instead of his own, so he is officially Matt Ragsdale. Emily is such a natural beauty and her hair and makeup from Hair Fusion just added to it. She showed up in adorable boots that I just couldn’t wait to photograph and she had put so much thought into her outfits, they were all themed! It was so perfect! We even had the dogs brought downtown for a few portraits in a flowerbed and they were too cute. Then we headed into my favorite alley, with Emily in her “alley outfit” and the light was perfect! We even had some breeze blowing through to tousle Emily’s hair. Then, the “adventure” occurred. Something funny or adventurous always seems to happen on my sessions and this time, a gentleman on a motorcycle offered his bike for a prop in Emily’s portraits! He was fairly persistent, so Emily hopped on the bike! It actually made for some pretty cool portraits, if you ask me. Then we headed out to a “field” for some “cowgirl” portraits. We finished in the studio as I had to use Emily’s black lace top, you know how much I love lace! I hope you love these few of my faves!
Durango Senior Photographer | Savannah Seiter’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Portrait Session Sneak Preview! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Savannah is one of our models and a Class of 2012 Senior at Durango High School. She is also a soccer player and had come straight from winning her last soccer game (that put them into the playoffs) to her model session. She didn’t even get to shower but she looked absolutely stunning (and she didn’t smell bad either). I had her pose in her soccer uniform (that she hadn’t even changed out of yet after her game) once her hair and make up was done because I loved the irony of the situation. She had an adorable blue and coral dress that was great with one of my favorite brick walls and the wall right next to the salon, Hair Fusion. We played a little in the flowers right next to Fired Up Pizzeria and a nice gentlemen walking his dog offered to let Savannah hold his puppy in her portraits. It was adorable! Then we headed back to the studio for a few more portraits and to meet with my next model, Emily Barney, who plays soccer with Savannah, but who did have a chance to go home and shower first. We all headed back downtown and while Emily was having her hair and make up done, Savannah and I found a beautiful pink cherry blossom tree to shoot her final images with. Just gorgeous! I hope you love these few of my faves!
Durango Senior Photographer | Lauren Dody’s Class of 2012 Senior Model Portrait Session Sneak Preview! | Allison Ragsdale Photography
Lauren is a Class of 2012 Durango High School senior and one of our beautiful models. I had so much fun with her session – I just fell in love with her fedora and her feather earrings! We started out with hair and make up at Hair Fusion, of course, then headed out to find some long grass and a rust aluminum wall, at Lauren’s request. I had to stop for some cherry blossom tree shots as well because they don’t last long and they are so pretty. We finished in the studio with some simpler face shots – so gorgeous! Thanks Lauren for being such a fun model and beautiful subject! Hope you love these few of my faves!
