Misty and I grew up in the same small town, attending K-12 together. I’ve always thought she was amazing. So, when at our 10 year reunion (crazy how fast that got here) we were admiring the beautiful engagement ring Justin designed and proposed to her with, I mentioned how much I would love to photograph her wedding! And I was so honored when she said of course we would be photographing her wedding! I was really excited about the part where I got to travel to Phoenix to photograph her wedding in beautiful 80 degree weather during our crazy spring weather. It was beyond incredible! The venue itself was so super cute, vintage, rustic, and elegant. There was barn wood, lace, chandeliers – a photographer’s dream! And Misty is absolutely gorgeous, as you can see from these pictures. Her beautiful green eyes and incredibly long hair, with her awesome purple jewels, and her unique (she designed it herself) wedding dress – are just a few of the things I loved about the day. The theme was western and Misty’s turquoise cowgirl boots were incredible. And when Justin came out – wow – he looked incredible too. And so did their wedding party and guests! I can’t get over it – it was western hipster and they totally pulled it off – not something you see in Durango everyday! And then there were the awesome family and friends that were Misty & Justin’s guests. What a wonderful group of people! We enjoyed every moment of photographing this wedding! AND THEN – we got to photograph them again the next day, for a Day After shoot in the desert. Love. Love. Love.
So, not only is Misty a beautiful person, inside and out, but she is also an incredibly talented video editor. Make sure you stay tuned for the video Misty will put together from her own wedding – I CANNOT wait! She created a logo animation for us that I am beyond in love with (honestly I didn’t know that was a thing until Misty told me). And her awesome videographer friends (she knows all of kinds of WOW people) captured me in action (not sure you’ll be able to keep a straight face watching me make faces while I work – I’ve been told I’m overly expressive) so I can’t wait to see what she creates from that!
I hope you love these favorite images of ours from Misty’s wedding as much as we do!
