Senior Photos of Lorianne Durango CO
Senior Photos of Lorianne Durango CO
Lorianne’s session was a photographer’s dream session. For her senior model photos, we shot at Blue Lake Ranch (one of my favorite locations) and her home, which has awesome old cars, a baby cow, a beautiful horse, the list goes on! I seriously could have photographed her for days out there! Lorianne worked out at Blue Lake Ranch this summer, so they let us run around (actually ride around – in a golf cart) and use the gorgeous flowers, lake, ranch house, etc. I thought it couldn’t get any better, then we went to Lorianne’s house and it did. Lorianne was so much fun to work with and photograph and I can’t wait to take more senior photos of Lorianne!
Senior Pictures Animas River with Laura
Senior Pictures Animas River with Laura
These senior pictures Animas River with Laura aren’t your average senior pictures. A friend of mine (thanks Shannon!) sent me a text one day with an image she had found on Pinterest that she knew I would love and be inspired by, which I was. It was a women lying on the surface of a body of water. I didn’t know exactly how to pull it off, but I knew I wanted too. When we photographed Laura’s model session, as she’s one of our beautiful DHS Class of 2014 Models, the river was really muddy and brown from recent rains, so we knew we couldn’t pull the shot off then. So we tried it a couple of weeks ago and it worked wonderfully! And it was easier than I thought it would be – just needed a table and some black material. Laura was an awesome model, as always – hope you love!
Bella’s Senior Model Volleyball Session
Bella’s Senior Model Volleyball Session
Bella is one of awesome Class of 2014 DHS Models and is also an incredible volleyball player. We wanted to do a themed senior model volleyball session with her and it was so funny because not only did it snow a lot during her model session (over spring break of all things), it rained during her volleyball session. She hasn’t caught a break yet in terms of weather. She’s a great sport though and never complains. Hopefully the weather will be nice for her fall senior session, which I can’t wait for! Come back to see that! Bella was also part of our awesome model night shoot, so check that out too if you missed it! Hope you love these!
Durango Senior Pictures with Dogs and Bicycles
Durango Senior Pictures with Dogs and Bicycles
Emily is another of our awesomely amazing Durango High School Senior Models for the Class of 2014. We did her Durango senior pictures with dogs and bicycles. Emily is an incredibly talented cyclist, so I was thrilled that she wanted to use her bike in her pictures. And her dog is too adorable. Emily has the most beautiful blue eyes, so of course, I was super excited to photograph those! We started in the studio then headed up to Haviland to use the beautiful mountain and lake in the background. The only bad part of the shoot was when I was bitten by a deer or horse fly on the knuckle of my shooting finger and I had such a reaction that my finger and hand swelled up so much that I couldn’t bend my finger! It made shooting the next couple of days difficult, but was totally worth it for the awesome images we got of Emily. Hope you love!
Senior Photography Night Shoot
Bella, Mikayla, Amanda, Logan, and Robin (all Class of 2014 Models for Allison Ragsdale Photography) came out for our senior photography night shoot. It was so much fun! What an awesome challenge – to shoot 5 beautiful girls after dark, downtown Durango! We started outside our local theater, the Gaslight, that still has a classic, almost vintage, marquee. The girls wanted to walk across the diagonal crosswalk we have downtown at one of the main intersections – and those unplanned images ended up being a few of my favorites! We used the Rochester Hotel’s courtyard and entrance and of course, the Strater Hotel’s entrance, lobby, and staircases. We had so much fun, I was laughing so hard so many times that I couldn’t even take pictures. Hope you love!
Cruiser Session Durango Seniors
We had waaaay too much fun photographing this cruiser session with our Durango seniors! Laura, Erin, and Ellie, a few of our Class of 2014 Models from Durango and Animas high school, are always amazing to shoot and this was no different. In addition to being an awesome shoot because we used fun vintage cruiser bicycles as props and photographed at one of my favorite locations, Sleeping Beauty Ranch (as if that isn’t enough by itself), we ALSO got to work with John LeSage of LS3! John does incredible aerial video footage and stills and we can’t wait to work with again! His equipment is sooooo cool and the aerial point of view is so great because it’s something we never get to see! Make sure you check out the video he put together (within minutes of the shoot!) at the bottom of this post! Hope you love!
Ashlyn | BHS Track & Field Senior Pics
Ashlyn is one of our beautiful Class of 2014 BHS Models. She was nice enough to hang out in Bayfield until after it got dark to shoot some OCF images in her uniform and her spikes on the track for some BHS Track and Field Senior Pics. So much fun! I think I ended up with 11 mosquito bites and I hope Ashlyn didn’t get any – but it was worth it! I love the sunset colors, then that dark blue sky you get before it goes black in the background. I love the leading lines of the track and the stadium. And Ashlyn looked amazing – much better than I ever looked in my track uniform, I’m sure! We love doing fun, challenging, unique shoots like this, so contact us if you have any ideas you want to try!
Katja and her filly | Durango Senior Model Session
Katja has been so wonderful to work with over the past few years – I’ve known her since I photographed her brother, Alex, for his senior portraits. She is very involved in Student Council so I have worked with her every year for homecoming and prom. So, of course I’ve been really excited to photograph her senior pictures and am so honored she decided to join our model program! She is one of our incredible DHS Class of 2014 Models. We photographed Katja and her filly for her Durango Senior Model Session and oh goodness was that fun! I love horses – I think they are beautiful – and I really love baby horses because they are so adorable. This little filly was in a playful mood and she had me laughing while we tried to hard to get her to pose for us. We also photographed Katja downtown and in the studio, which was fun with Katja’s gorgeous eyes! Hope you love!
Kendra | Bayfield High School Senior Pictures
Kendra is one of our awesome Bayfield High School Senior Pictures Class of 2014 Models. I’ll always have a soft spot for my BHS models, as that’s where I graduated from, and Kendra is no exception. Her younger brother goes to Animas High School, which I also adore, and look forward to photographing him when he is a senior. Kendra’s session started at Hair Fusion, for hair and makeup, and she looked amazing! I loved the outfits she brought. We started outside, downtown, but then it started raining, so we shot the middle of the session in the studio. Then we headed back outside to finish the shoot, in our studio’s neighborhood with all the gorgeous flowers and aspen trees. Kendra was so much fun to photograph and I am excited to work with her again for her senior session! Hope you love…
Carley | Senior Pictures with professional hair and make up
Carley is another of our stunning Durango High School Class of 2013 Senior Models. We provide senior pictures with professional hair and make up to all of our models and to any senior who wants to include that in their session – and it is so much fun. The experience of having someone else (always Hair Fusion) do their hair and make up is so much fun, plus they look and feel fabulous. Which makes my job even more amazing! Carley wanted “Durango” senior pictures. She didn’t want urban or “unique” necessarily – she wanted her portraits to show off the beautiful place we live and the fact that she loves it here. It was a great session for me – to remind myself why I love living here and why being a photographer here is probably more amazing than being a photographer somewhere else. We used some of the most “Durango” locations, like Baker’s Bridge, and it was perfect! I hope you love!
Shane | Senior Pictures Durango CO
Shane is so awesome. He is our only guy model this year and we so appreciate him! Matt has known Shane for years through Durango High School. I met Shane last summer when he helped with remodeling our studio. He was such a hard worker (going to football practice before and after coming to the studio – like he is doing again this summer for someone else). Shane has been spending any spare moments he has (which are few) in the mountains, jeeping, etc – so that’s where we wanted to photograph his session. We still wanted the session to be creative and not too traditional, so the weather helped us out, with low lying clouds and dramatic skies. We shot Shane’s session at Haviland Lake, which is always beautiful – but it seemed even more beautiful after the rain. Shane is such a natural in front of the camera and he looked good no matter what he did. We tried looking up some guy model poses while out climbing around the lake but I liked what we came up with on our own better. I hope you love!
Sydney | Durango Dance Senior Photography
Sydney’s model session was a blast! She brought some great props (like her red umbrella). Her hair and make up turned out perfectly – just exactly what she wanted (via Hair Fusion, of course). She’s a dancer, so she also brought a dance costume and I loved photographing that in the river! I have always loved dancing and watching others dance (because they are all so much better than I am). I watch So You Think You Can Dance every week. Sydney was great to work with as she put a lot of thought into her outfits, locations, and props – she had great ideas – and she was up for everything I suggested too.
