I normally share images without writing anything, as I believe they speak for themselves (pictures are worth a thousand words, right?). But this story is straight out of a Hallmark movie and too good not to share. This family is the best and not only are they friends, they are amazing clients. I photographed them last year, around the holidays, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch to convince Kristin we were doing another family session this year; though the truth is we were planning a surprise proposal. Nolan had it all figured out. We would do some “posed” family shots, then everyone would skate around and I’d capture candid moments. He would pretend to fall while ice skating and when Kristin came to help him up, he would ask her to marry him. Well, Nolan should be an actor because he fell expertly. But then, Kristin’s dad came to hep him up, before Kristin could. That meant Nolan had to fall again and he did he ever! Kristin came to his rescue this time and it only gets better from here. Nolan fell again when Kristin tried to help him up and he dropped the ring at the same time. Once he was on one knee again, he searched the snow and ice and found the ring! Kristin said yes and they are living happily ever after. I can only hope that I get to photograph the wedding and they’ve set the bar so high already for how amazingly romantic that will be!
