And….EVEN More Friend Shoots
And….EVEN More Friend Shoots
I asked these two best friends what they like to do together. Their immediate response was “eat donuts”. I fell in love with the idea and we went straight to the grocery store to find the picture perfect donut. Lexi and I had to buy one for ourselves for after the shoot of course – and it was my first double chocolate turtle donut – yum! I went back a few weeks later and discovered a maple bacon donut – wow! Anyways – we had a blast photographing Brooke and Caroline – two of our senior models from DHS – with and without their donuts.
Alyssa’s Spring Friend Session
Alyssa is one of our gorgeous Class of 2015 DHS models and we’ve loved getting to photograph her so many times! We did a winter shoot, a spring shoot, a summer shoot, a spring friend session, she was part of our group sparkler shoot – and we have her fall shoot coming up in October! I wanted to share these images from her friend session we did last spring as these two are so adorable in their matching dresses! LOVE!
Carnival Themed Photoshoot
Carnival Themed Photoshoot

A perfect way to end the summer was to spend the evening at the carnival with a few of our Class of 2015 Models. We had a blast! I bought twice as many ride tickets as I need too, Katie managed to talk her way into receiving 10 free cotton candy sticks, and we laughed the whole time. These are 10 of our 30 something models from Durango High School, Bayfield High School, and Animas High School. A few years ago I did a carnival session with crazy hair/makeup and costumes. I loved it and have always wanted to do another carnival shoot – but this time I wanted it to be real and fun. I think we managed it.

Cameron Wiegert DHS Senior
Cameron is one of 3 Wiegert triplets – the brother. We’ve photographed his sister’s Katie and Lizzie multiple times, as they are all 3 models for our studio. This was the first time I got to work with Cameron and he was awesome! Love his truck and his laid back attitude. I loved getting to see the 3 of them together and how close they are and how well they got along – make sure to check out their sibling pictures coming soon. Cameron’s sisters were awesome, getting him to smile and try a few poses – it was a super fun shoot that I would do again anytime!
Alejandra’s Beautiful Senior Pictures
Alejandra was so much fun to photograph – seriously! She was our first “official” DHS Class of 2015 Senior session this year – and what an honor. I had the opportunity to photograph her sister, Karina, for her senior portraits a couple of years ago so I was very excited to work with her family again! I think my favorite images are the ones we captured in the studio. Alejandra’s favorite color is red, so we shot a bunch on my red seamless and I love the color pop! Hope you do too!
Jack Marshall Class of 2015 Durango High School Senior Pictures
Jack is a Class of 2015 Durango High School Senior, the youngest of the Marshall’s – and the only brother. We’ve had the honor of photographing all three of his older sister’s for their senior pictures and since they all participated in our model program (Taylor was one of our seniors ignite model winners), we of course wanted Jack to do the same. We were psyched when he came in to plan his model shoot because he had some awesome ideas. I am in love with the images we created with his lacrosse helmet on – and I can’t take full credit for those because they were all Jack’s idea! I’ll take credit for the lighting and the image of course – but the concept was all him – so thank you Jack! The Marshall family is one of my absolute favorites – I adore every single one of them – and I am so bummed that once Jack graduates, there won’t be any more Marshall senior models. Perhaps I’ll make a college model program, etc just for them. Hope you love!
Jessica Cusick Bayfield High School Senior Pictures
Jessica is one of our Bayfield High School Class of 2015 Models and chose our Adventure Session – which means we got to spend all day with her and it was a blast! Jessica is so much fun to work with and photograph. She is so easy going and has such a natural camera smile – that never went away – even after hours and hours of shooting. She and her awesome mom had so many great ideas and I can’t wait to do her next session so we can do the rest of them. For her model shoot, we played in the wildflowers, in a waterfall, in the long grass, at Appaloosa Trading Company, and at the studio. Loved all of her outfits and hats – can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
Aerial Video of a Class of 2015 Senior Model Friend Session
In case you haven’t already seen this video on one of our social media sites (because I shared it EVERYWHERE), or even if you have, WATCH this incredible aerial video! I am in love with it and could watch it over and over – it’s so much fun. The amazing John LeSage, of LS3 Aerial wanted to test some new equipment, so he joined us on this super fun friend shoot at Vallecito Lake. The girls had me laughing so hard I cried the entire session and this will forever be one of my favorite shoots (even though it started at 7:45 in the morning – not my favorite time of day). Thanks again to John and to our incredible senior models and their friends! I’ll post portraits once they’ve picked their favorites – but wanted to share this video right away!

Prom Dress Senior Pictures Durango Colorado
We love our group model sessions and this one was no exception! We had 5 (4 of whom you see in this post, check out Aspyn‘s post for her images) of our Class of 2015 Senior Models come into the studio for our formal group shoot and we played for a few hours with different lighting and fabrics. We had so much fun!
Rachel Gonzales Animas High School Senior Pictures
Rachel has been incredible to work with and I’m so excited she’s our Animas High School Class of 2015 Model! Mary Beth, at Hair Fusion, did Rachel’s hair and makeup for her session and she looked absolutely stunning! I am super jealous of her hair! We started in the studio, with Rachel’s incredible prom dress from Occasions. Then we headed downtown to use our favorite spiral staircase and Rachel handled the direct sunlight like nobody I’ve seen! We used Gazpacho’s staircase, then headed out to Pastorius for some fabric blowing the wind images. LOVE!
What was your biggest fear before hiring me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
What, specifically, was your favorite part of your session, and why?
If you were to recommend us to your best friend, what would you say?
Allison and Matt work really hard to make sure that every person that they work with ends up with truly beautiful photos. They are great people who make you feel at ease with them.
Elise Destination Senior Pictures Denver Colorado
We got to photograph one of our incredible Durango High School Class of 2015 Senior Models, Elise Christiansen, at a castle, in Denver! How cool is that?! We teamed up with a couple of our awesome photographer friends in Denver (Roka Studios and CE Seniors) to put together this super fun destination senior picture shoot. Because we were shooting in a “castle” (actually called The Highlands Ranch Mansion), Matt wanted to come up with a unique concept. He decided he wanted to re-create a Cinderella look, but not the ballroom gown/glass slippers Cinderella. So he brought his vision to life through our super great assistant, Lexi, who designed the tulle and burlap skirt you see in these images. She did such an amazing job and Elise modeled it perfectly! As you can see, we couldn’t shoot at a castle and not try out a few other outfits, including overalls (my personal favorite item of clothing ever) and a parachute! Seriously – so much fun!
