Laura & Jonathan were incredible to photograph! They are newly engaged – congrats again you two! They looked great no matter what I asked them to do! They live in Texas, but had their trip to Durango planned before they got engaged; so, they thought they’d throw in an engagement session while they were here. I was so honored when I got the phone call from Laura about photographing their engagement session! My entire extended family is from, and lives in, Texas. And to make the world even smaller, Jonathan lives in San Angelo, which is where my parents were born and raised and where a lot of my family still lives! I’m always amazed at how small our world really is. I’m traveling to San Angelo myself for my grandma’s 80th birthday next weekend, so maybe I’ll get to see Laura and Jonathan again! Laura and Jonathan were staying at the Logwood B&B;, so we started the session there. It is just gorgeous out there and the weather was perfection. Matt, the owner (I think), even brought me some coffee while we were shooting! We headed up to Baker’s Bridge next, as it’s just a mile up the road from Logwood and we had an interesting time trying to hike around in our boots – I told them I’m becoming more mountain goat-like every day. Then we came down into town so we could shoot with some “downtown Durango” backgrounds. We used my favorite spiral staircase of course. I spent some of the session trying to talk Laura and Jonathan into flying us out to Texas to photograph their wedding, so we’ll see if I’ve convinced them. Hope you love these few of my faves!
