Chrissy and Kevin were married last Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Animas Valley Sleeping Beauty Ranch and we were so honored to photograph their beautiful day. I want to share so many images from their wedding day that I’m going to do several blog posts. This first one is all about Chrissy and Kevin and their wedding ceremony. Their ceremony was neat because they did a climbing rope ceremony within which they tied a knot together (I apologize, I’m not a climber, so I have no idea what the knot was called) around all of their guests. They had one of the best “first kisses” I’ve photographed and I loved their enthusiasm coming down the aisle. They are both such fun people and looking through their images makes me smile because they are smiling/laughing in all of them.

I have a quick story about Chrissy that she probably doesn’t even remember. I met Chrissy a few years ago through a mutual friend and we all went on a bike ride for another friend’s birthday. Well, I like to ride but I don’t ride often and I only own a mountain bike, not a road bike. So, I showed up with my heavy mountain bike and we proceeded to go on a 26 mile bike ride (and like I said, I don’t ride very often). If you “follow” me at all, you know I run a lot, but biking is completely different.  It was a blast, but I was really dragging the last few miles and Chrissy hung back with me and encouraged me enough to pull me through to the end. I have always appreciated that.Thanks Chrissy!

We did all of their formal portraits before the ceremony, which I always love doing. Chrissy even commented on how “relaxing” it was for her nerves to do the pictures beforehand; plus, after the ceremony, they could get straight to their reception and enjoy their friends and family. We did steal them away a little later for some portraits of the two of them on the dock once the sun went down which worked out perfectly. Chrissy’s wedding dress is one of my all time favorites; possibly number one on my list. And I LOVED the colors they chose for their wedding too – so pretty.
