Kelli “won” a gift certificate for a free portrait session and portrait credit that we had donated to Nadine Ryser’s fundraiser. Kelli is a college student at Fort Lewis College and she will be graduating this December! So, when we met to discuss her session, we discussed using these portraits for her college senior portraits – graduation announcements possibly, etc. And it was a really fun session! Kelli had so many great ideas and she really wanted unique, artistic, “urban outfitter like” portraits. So, I did my research and went for it! My style is usually a bit more classic portraiture so I had a blast “breaking rules” and looking for portraits within the usual portrait – details and body parts that became portraits of their own. We started out north of town, in the valley, in the long grass and at Appaloosa Trading Company (love them!). Then we came back into town to use a few more “urban” backdrops and then into the Strater Hotel for the Victorian feel! Kelli had so many great props like hats, scarves, fans, and jewelery! We finished the session with red lipstick – I had way too much fun! Hope you love these few of my faves – I will definitely be sharing more of these in the future!
